After being bowled out for 152 in the first innings and trailing by 412 runs, Afghanistan were asked to follow on by India captain Shubman Gill. India's decision proved successful as the Afghan batting lineup once again struggled against India's spin attack.
Afghanistan began their second innings cautiously and reached 18/0 at lunch on Day 3. Openers Sediqullah Atal and Abdul Malik initially resisted the Indian bowlers, but the resistance did not last long.
India's spinners took control during the middle session. Washington Sundar produced a match-winning spell, while Kuldeep Yadav provided excellent support from the other end. Afghanistan's middle order collapsed under pressure as wickets fell at regular intervals.
